Communities secretary praised for ’innovation and creativity’

Robert Jenrick is to meet Tory backbenchers “in the coming days” in an attempt to win them over to the government’s proposed planning reforms. 

Some backbenchers have voiced cautious support for the government’s proposed planning bill as Jenrick, the communities secretary, hit back at claims by former prime minister Theresa May that it will create a “developers’ charter”.
