Glancy Nicholls’ latest Birmingham tower is 37 storeys

A “super slender” 37-storey tower in Birmingham has been given the go-ahead by the city’s planning committee.

Designed by Glancy Nicholls Architects, the £58m development will be 116.5m tall and just 9.5m wide, making it the UK’s first habitable “super slender” structure.

The plans for the tower, known as 211 Broad Street, will include a hotel with 264 apartment rooms, along with a bar, restaurant, gym and residents’ lounge.
