The mixed-use development will include 1,300 homes, new public realm and active travel routes as part of a wider £1bn regeneration programme

Plans for a new £350m town centre neighbourhood in Stockport, designed by shedkm, have been approved by the local authority.

The eight-acre Stockport 8 site, led by The Stockport 8 LLP, a joint venture between Stockport council and ECF, a partnership of Homes England, Legal & General and Muse, forms a central part of the Stockport Mayoral Development Corporation’s (MDC) Town Centre West regeneration programme.

Located either side of King Street West, adjacent to the grade II listed railway viaduct, the development is intended to connect Stockport Interchange with surrounding communities and link to nearby heritage sites such as Weir Mill.
