The Solaya development for Brookfield Properties and Dubai Holding includes nine residential buildings and a central landscaped park

Foster + Partners has revealed designs for Solaya, a new beachfront residential development in Dubai.

The project has been commissioned by Brookfield Properties and Dubai Holding, and comprises nine apartment buildings arranged around a central landscaped park with direct access to the shoreline.

The scheme is divided into two residential clusters, linked by the new park. The residential blocks will have between 18 to 42 apartments per building. Ground-floor homes will have their own private gardens.

Dan Sibert, senior partner at Foster + Partners, said: “The buildings are surrounded by incredible native greenery, and every apartment is orientated to maximise views and celebrate indoor-outdoor living by the beach. The project also generates a brand-new civic space for Dubai, with a spectacular landscaped park at the centre of the site.”

Planting is specified to use native species, which the architects state will encourage biodiversity and support local wildlife.
