Firm’s revenue grew almost five-fold outside continent

Scott Brownrigg’s turnover has jumped by more than a quarter following soaring workloads outside of Europe.

The firm’s revenue was £27.9m in the year to 31 January 2025, an increase of 29% compared to the £21.7m posted in the previous year.

The increase was driven by a near five-fold increase in its turnover outside of Europe, which rose from £2.4m in the previous year to more than £11.5m.

The firm’s success on other continents was partially dimmed by a dip in its workloads within Europe, which fell from £17.6m to £15.8m in the UK, its biggest market, and from £1.6m to £630,000 across the rest of the continent.

Its operating profit also fell from £3.1m to £2.1m during the period, while its average staff count remained relatively stable but with a small reduction from 189 to 183 employees.

The firm’s three directors shared a total of £887,134 during the year, up from £792,120 the year before.

Darren Comber, a director and the firm’s chief executive, said the practice had achieved “outstanding results” during the period thanks to a “robust business strategy focused on vertical and horizontal expansion, international outreach, and improved efficiency”.

Projects completed during the year included Shinfield Studios in Reading and the redevelopment of Paddington Underground Station.

Notable ongoing projects include Medina Airport in Saudi Arabia and three buildings at Oxford Science Park.
