Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park has launched the fourth round of its Future Industries Demonstrator programme, offering funding to trial design and technology solutions aimed at improving health and sustainability in the built environment.

The initiative will award £16,000 each to five London-based small and medium-sized enterprises whose proposals seek to address issues such as poor indoor air quality, damp, overheating and energy inefficiency.

Part of the Park’s Innovation District, the programme is funded by the Mayor of London and the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Applicants must demonstrate innovation, impact and scalability. Twenty-five shortlisted SMEs will be invited to develop and refine ideas. Five will then be selected for funding to deliver a three-month trial, followed by a showcase at the 2026 Innovation Forum.

Shazia Hussain, chief executive of the London Legacy Development Corporation, said: “With over 700,000 London households experiencing fuel poverty, and climate change increasing the risk of overheating in the capital’s buildings, the launch of this latest Future Industries Demonstrator funding couldn’t be more timely.”

London’s deputy mayor for business and growth, Howard Dawber, said the challenge would help “unlock new solutions to major social and environmental challenges”.

Applications close on 14 September. The programme concludes in March 2026.
