Jack Stephenson has been promoted from associate to studio lead following the departure of his predecessor Charlotte Hodges.

The studio also oversees work across the north of England including its 45ha masterplan for York Central, a £2.5bn redevelopment of land around York Central Station for Network Rail and Homes England.

Stephenson is also working on the £1.7bn Sister development in Manchester for Bruntwood SciTech and the University of Manchester. The first phase of the new commercial district was approved last year.

Stephenson has worked at Allies and Morrison since 2012, starting as a Part I architectural assistant in London before returning to the practice for his Part II in 2015. He moved to the Manchester office in 2019, when he became an associate.

He said: “We are excited that our work in Manchester and the North is growing. After a number of years with the practice, I am genuinely delighted to be taking on this new challenge working with colleagues to build on the momentum of great projects such as Sister Manchester and York Central.”

A spokesperson for Allies and Morrison said: ”We are delighted that our Jack Stephenson will be taking on the role of studio lead for Allies and Morrison’s studio in Manchester. Jack has been with Allies and Morrison for 12 years, and has been a key voice in our growing portfolio of work in the North of England.”
