Brexit deal ‘tragic loss’ say architects

Certainty over import of building products but no clarity on recognition of architects’ qualifications in the EU

Architects have raised concerns the post-Brexit trade deal with the EU agreed on Christmas Eve, will not be enough to ensure construction professionals can work on EU projects, an outcome which could be a significant blow to the profession.

However, construction leaders have welcomed the deal, which will allow the continued importation of vital building products from the EU without additional tariffs.
