Belfast-based Todd Architects has drawn up the plans

Plans for a £50m redevelopment to transform Queen’s Parade on Bangor’s seafront in Northern Ireland have been revealed.

Belfast-based Todd Architects has drawn up plans for the new waterfront redevelopment, working closely with North Down & Ards council, the department for communities in Northern Ireland and the developer Bangor Marine.

The new proposed redevelopment plan includes the refurbishment of existing commercial properties and creating outside events space.

This includes an overhaul of the Marine Gardens public realm combining external events space, cafes, sheltered promenade and kiosks.

Peter Minnis, director at Todd Architects, said: This exciting opportunity will see the area regenerated into a revitalised, sustainable and contemporary seafront, enhancing Bangor’s appeal as a top Northern Ireland destination.”

The planning process has commenced, with work expected to begin in 2020.
