Pracitce owed nearly £1.6m including £850,000 to lenders

Ben Adams Architects has been placed into liquidation with all 16 staff losing their jobs.
The Southwark-based practice owed nearly £1.6m at the time of its collapse, according to a statement of affairs published on 31 March.
The funds owed include more than £850,000 to lenders, £230,000 to employees, £390,000 to its landlord and almost £100,000 to trade creditors.
Founded by Ben Adams in 2010, the practice employed 45 staff as recently as 2020 but its headcount had dropped to 32 in 2024 and fell sharply to 18 last year.
Christine Bartlett and Heath Sinclair of Richard Long & Co have been appointed joint liquidators of the company.
The pair said: “Unfortunately, Ben Adams Architects Limited was placed into creditor’s voluntary liquidation on the 10 April 2026. Nigel Heath Sinclair and Christine Patricia Bartlett both of Richard Long & Co were appointed joint liquidators of the company by its creditors.
“The company’s employees have been released as part of this process. The joint liquidators, together with Ben Adams, the company’s sole director and shareholder, are presently realising the company’s assets, which includes, where agreed, the on-going projects for the benefit of all creditors.”
Recent projects by the firm include the refurbishment of the 1960s Henry Wood House in Westminster.
