How will the RIBA get over the embarrassment of handing out architecture’s main prize with no cash for the winner?

One idea touted is to remove all the smaller awards including the Stephen Lawrence Award and the Manser Medal — both of which come with a cheque — to a separate event so the poor old Stirling Prize is not embarrassed by the lack of cash. But someone worked out what this would mean in terms of table sales and the idea was quickly dropped!
