Sheppard Robson’s MediaCityUK flats

Sheppard Robson has submitted a £70m build-for-sale housing scheme which will be part of the MediaCityUK project in Salford.

The 280-home scheme will rise from 14 to 17 storeys and feature one-, two- and three-bedroom flats.

It is being built for Latimer, the development arm of Clarion Housing Group (CHG). It said the homes would be sold and the profits reinvested in its affordable homes programme and its existing social housing stock.

CHG is currently building 552 new homes in Salford, according to director of development Richard Cook, who said the latest plans underlined his firm’s commitment to the area.

A joint venture between Peel L&P and Legal & General Capital, MediaCityUK is a 200-acre mixed-use development and currently home to broadcasters BBC and ITV as well as mobile communications giant Ericsson.
