The institution’s architecture scholarships support research residencies in Rome

Applications are now open for the 2026–27 architecture scholarships at the British School at Rome (BSR), which include the Giles Worsley Rome Fellowship, the Robert Adam Rome Scholarship and the Rome Scholarship in Architecture.

The awards provide opportunities for architects, scholars and students to pursue self-directed research in Rome, engaging directly with the city’s architectural and urban fabric. The scholarships each offer a residency at the BSR, ranging from three to six months, and are intended to support early or mid-career practitioners and researchers whose work would benefit from time spent studying Rome’s built environment.
