Practice also working on new airport ahead of 2018 World Cup
Twelve Architects has completed its first scheme in Russia where it is carrying out a number of jobs including a new £600 million airport.
The practice, which was set up three years ago by RMJM’s former London director Matt Cartwright, has finished a mixed-use scheme at Ekaterinburg, the fourth largest city in Russia.
The project includes a hypermarket, multi-storey car park and a multi-purpose sports venue and forms part of a 220,000sq m residential development.
Twelve is due to complete the new Rostov on Don international airport in time for the 2018 football World Cup, which is being held in Russia, and will be capable of handling five million passengers a year.
The practice beat a longlist of 11 which featured two other British practices, Pascall & Watson and Haptic, to land the job back in 2013.
