I’m the owner of the house (“‘Bonkers’ council decision thrown out”, bdonline February 5) and needless to say I’m delighted with the outcome.
It’s a small victory for common sense in a world where overworked and under-qualified conservation officers always default to the safe answer of No.
I’ve spent thousands restoring the house to its former glory following a nasty 1960s makeover and years of neglect, and it was a real kick in the teeth to have such a minor and sympathetic modification rejected.
Ken Fisher at Apec Architects did a great job on the appeal and I’m so glad I trusted in his bullish but informed confidence. Well done, Ken!
