Feilden Fowles, OMI and Carmody Groarke among six triumphant teams

Feilden Fowles’ the Fratry project at Carlisle Cathedral, OMI Architects’ Old Library at Tuebrook in Liverpool, and Carmody Groarke’s Special Exhibitions Gallery at the Museum of Science & Industry in Manchester have been named among the six best new buildings in the North West.

They are joined as winners of the 2022 RIBA North West Awards by Hodder & Partners’ Welcome Building at RHS Bridgewater, BDP’s refurbishment of Lancaster Castle, and Knight Architects’ Pooley New Bridge in the Lake District.

The projects were selected from 10 shortlisted schemes announced earlier this year, and beat projects by John McAslan & Partners, Allies & Morrison and AHMM to secure best-in-the-region status.
