Blok’s mixed-use development earmarked for derelict site

Local practice Blok Architects is behind plans for a residential scheme in Liverpool’s Chinatown district.

The scheme will see around 800 apartment and town houses built along with 20,000sq m of commercial space on the site at Great George Street. It also includes space for 200 new businesses.

Developer on the scheme is North Point Global which is part of PHD1 and also the developer on another job in Liverpool which Blok is working on – an 18-storey tower on the fringes of the city centre.

The city’s deputy mayor Ann O’Byrne said: “This is a key site in Chinatown right on a main route into the city centre and has fantastic potential, particularly as it lies so close to the city centre.”
