Neil Mathews and Tom Dobson as practice readies to celebrate its 50th year
DLA Architecture has announced the promotion of Neil Matthews and Tom Dobson to its board of directors as the practice approaches its 50th year.
The promotions of the two directors follow several senior appointments across the firm’s offices in Leeds, Manchester and London as part of a wider restructure.
Directors Andrew Hargreaves and Chris Levett have also taken on new roles focusing on business management and business development.
Matthews said: “After more than 20 years with DLA, I’ve seen the practice grow, diversify and successfully respond to changing markets. Being invited to join the board is a responsibility I’m incredibly proud to take on.
Dobson added: “What attracted me to DLA was its ambition, collaborative culture and clear vision for its future.
“Being invited to join the board is an exciting opportunity to help build on DLA’s legacy already in place, work alongside an exceptional team, and lead the growth of the studios and sectors across the North.”
The Leeds-based practice employed around 70 people according to its latest accounts for the year ended 31 October 2025, but new hires this year have brought the number up to 90.
Its turnover last year was £6.35m but the practice said it expects this to rise to £7.8m in 2026.
