A £100,000 scheme to design four huts for disabled users at a Dorset beach attracted more than 150 entries.
The job for Bournemouth Council has been won by Hove-based practice Atkins Blair Ings Richardson Architects.
The firm has teamed up with Brighton design consultancy Aerea to design the huts at Boscombe Beach.
In all, 173 firms from around the world sent in submissions for the scheme.
The winning design takes the seagull and the windbreak as inspiration for the design.
Each hut can fit up to four wheelchair users and include high colour contrast surfaces, tactile floor surfaces and adjustable height kitchen units.
The huts are expected to be ready for rent next summer.
