Quite clearly something is not working as planned on the Pavilion Gardens project in Bradford (News February 8) and crucially lessons must be learnt and then shared with the wider industry.
That’s why the UK Green Building Council has temporarily removed this project from our case study library — it will be a far more valuable case study when we are able to say for certain what went wrong and what has been done to rectify the situation.
However, it would be a great shame were the reputation of all high-level code homes to be tarred with the same brush.
For those delivering cutting-edge designs, there will always be examples of things that don’t go as expected. Those should be fixed and learnt from. And there is no reason why good architecture cannot go hand in hand with highly sustainable design.
