Works will be concealed as construction is completed
Two “hidden” artworks have been commissioned for a Studio Egret West-designed building in Clapham, south London.
Artists Paul Davis and James Carey were asked by developer Cathedral Group to use parts of the Library Building as a “blank canvas”, with the finished pieces hidden forever as construction work is completed.
Martyn Evans, marketing and creative director at Cathedral Group, said: “What they have produced is something uniquely contemporary; something that will still be there if this building is torn down in 300 years time. We like to think of it as a little bit of the 21st century captured in time.”
The building is due to be completed in February.
