The George Square fiasco (News June 21) is just another example of a council that fails to see the value of designer-led quality intervention within the city.
They spend a lot of money on a really poor public consultation, judging process and exhibition before spitting the dummy and heading back to city chambers with some crayons and a bit of paper to knock something up themselves.
