I experienced a heady blend of nostalgia and optimism reading Wouter Vanstiphout’s column (Opinion March 15). For a moment, I felt as if everything is going to be OK. But is it really?
Establishing a process-versus-product argument reminds me of the horror I experienced as a seven-year-old watching my pet gerbil eat its young.
The more time I spend with management consultants designing businesses for serious dollars the more I get frustrated that we don’t focus more on leveraging the value of our process design skills. Nostalgia doesn’t pay the bills. As for optimism, it’s market-specific.
