100 Bishopsgate, an office development designed by Allies and Morrison and Woods Bagot for the City of London, has been launched at Mipim.

The 88,000sq m scheme features a 40-storey tower and two other buildings separated by 0.2ha of public realm.

It won planning after design revisions at the end of last year but will not be built until it has been pre-let by joint developers Great Portland Estates and Brookfield Office Properties.

The two architects, collaborating as AMWB, used bim software to coordinate the detailed design across the three key disciplines.

Earle Arney, a director at Woods Bagot, said: “The resulting design is extraordinary in the context of the Square Mile as it not only provides ‘clean-skin’ cores within large, regular floor plates, but also creates a new public place that serves to lift the spirit and enhance the urban fabric of the City of London.”

Building and BD Present BIM Show Live, a 2 day conference and exhibition taking place on the 9 and 10 May 2012 at the Business Design Centre, London. Visit www.bimshowlive.co.uk to register.

Glad to see they ignored Sir RR's comments just days later. The proportion between the floor plate and the height is wrong. and by doing NOTHING to break up the massing it looks clumsy

  • Typical A&M super boring design...but the hatched CAD elevations, with precisely cast shadows from every nut and bolt will look just lovely.

  • Zecks, do you mean 'break up the massing' like the Heron next door? Arguably the worst tall bulding in the City.

    Boring, maybe, clumsy, not really.

I do wonder where the public space is though, certainly not where it is needed as you can't see it in these images.

Lisa please don't think I like PLoP designs like the heron. The SOM effort up the road is a much better example
