The board of NHS Islington, which wants to shut down the Lubetkin-designed Finsbury Health Centre in north London, has agreed to review a council report into the centre ahead of a crucial board meeting in May

Islington Council’s health and wellbeing committee has recommended the building be refurbished and retained as a health centre. The NHS trust claims this would be too expensive and wants to sell it to developers instead.

Campaigners fighting the closure say the meeting, on May 27, is the last chance for the trust to avoid to avoid the council referring its decision to the health secretary.
