STA is remodelling and extending a 1930s house in a conservation area in Chiswick, west London.
The building will use solar water heating in conjunction with underfloor heating, photovoltaic panels, a heat recovery system and rainwater recycling, so that traditional heating is not required for most of the year.
The cladding to the building’s exterior elevations will be made of individually fibre reinforced concrete panels.
Work for the private client will start in the middle of this month, and also involves knocking down and replacing an extension added in the 1960s. The project is due to be completed by the end of the year.
