Craig Dykers appointed visiting professor at Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts
Snøhetta co-founder Craig Dykers will chair the jury for the 2012 Steedman architecture competition.
The $50,000 Steedman Travelling Fellowship, founded in 1925, is awarded biannually through an international design competition run by Washington University College of Architecture. Candidates’ research proposals are also taken into consideration by the judges.
One of the US’s richest competitions, it allows the winner to travel for architectural research and study in foreign countries for nine months and is open to graduates of accredited architectural degree programmes around the world.
Dykers, who has been appointed a visiting professor at the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts, part of Washington University in St Louis, will be joined on the Steedman jury by Brad Cloepfil, principal of Allied Works Architecture in Portland and New York, and by Sarah Dunn and Martin Felson, principals of Urban Lab of Chicago.
Registration for the competition will begin on January 16, with the deadline for entries April 2.
