Institute produces Brexit briefing for profession
RIBA president Jane Duncan has written to every RIBA member promising to engage with the government at the highest level in the months ahead.
“We will work with colleagues in industry and at the highest level of government to ensure that architects have a strong voice in the coming weeks, months and years,” she said.
She also pledged to “waste no time” in sharing the implications of a Brexit for the profession.
The institute has produced a rolling Brexit briefing outlining what is known so far. It asks members to help add to the document and admits much that remains uncertain.
But it answers immediate questions such as what the vote means for doing business in Europe, movement of labour, public procurement and product and environmental standards.
Duncan described today as “day one of a very long journey” but she added: “UK architectural talent is incredibly resilient and we will continue to ensure that our profession – and our organisation – has a bright future, whatever the operating environment.”
