New plans submitted for site owned by media magnate Richard Desmond

A new planning application for a waterfront neighbourhood on the site of the former Westferry Printworks on the Isle of Dogs has been lodged for planning.

A design team led by PLP Architecture has submitted news plans to Tower Hamlets council on behalf of Westferry Developments and Mace Developments for the site which is owned by former Daily Express and Daily Star proprietor Richard Desmond.

The site already has planning for 700 homes, also designed by PLP. The new proposal is for 1,500 homes, 35% of which are affordable, plus sporting facilities, a new community hub and creche and a health centre. A new 1,200-place secondary school is also planned.
