Pinewood Studios has appealed to the Planning Inspectorate against South Buckinghamshire District Council’s rejection of a 40ha “creative community” on the Buckinghamshire green belt.

The £200 million Project Pinewood, by Burland TM Architects and Arup, includes New York and Parisian streetscapes, a Venetian canal and a Roman amphitheatre as well as 2,000 homes and a screen skills academy. It would be the largest film-making centre outside Hollywood.

Pinewood claims it would create nearly 1,000 jobs and contribute £60 million a year to the economy.
