A team featuring Nicholas Hare and Hawkins Brown has won a £300 million Building Schools for the Future contract in west London.

The pair are part of a Balfour Beatty-led consortium which has been named preferred bidder for the deal by Ealing Council. The project involves work on 18 of the borough’s schools between this October and 2014.

In all, 14 schools will be upgraded and expanded while a brand new school will be built in north Greenford. A further three technology schools will also be upgraded.

The Balfour Beatty team beat a group featuring HLM Architects and KSS Design Group.
