Practice in final four in competition to design net zero scheme at Butrint National Park, a Unesco World Heritage Site

Architects from William Matthews Associates are jetting off to Albania in the new year after landing a place in the final four shortlisted teams in a competition to design a net zero carbon visitor centre at the country’s chief archaeological site.

The practice will lead a design team featuring Barker Langham, Harris Bugg Studio, Structure Workshop and Atelier Ten to compete for the job at Butrint National Park, a Unesco World Heritage Site.
