Paul Rodgers is promoted to Scottish managing principal
Paul Stallan has become the latest staffer to walk out of RMJM.
The star designer quit yesterday after his close associate Alistair Brand, managing principal for Scotland, was fired over allegations of gross misconduct.
Stallan, a former Architect of the Year, joined RMJM in 1995 and ran his own ‘Paul Stallan at RMJM Studio’ with Brand and four other architects, Ian Harper, Neil Mclean, Conor Pittman and Paul Rodgers.
Rodgers, 43, has been named new Scottish managing principal..
Stallan, who worked on the Scottish Parliament and the Falkirk Wheel, won the Royal Scottish Academy Gold Medal for Architecture as well as RIBA and RIAS design awards.
Hong Kong principal Catherine Siu quit last year after emailing a 900-word tirade to chief executive Peter Morrison and copying in all staff. She was followed by Ed Jimenez, a senior architect at RMJM’s since-closed Princeton office who publicly attacked chief executive Peter Morrison for failing to pay staff on time.
A RMJM spokesman said Stallan had “tendered his resignation which has been accepted”.
He said Rodgers had led both RMJM’s collaborations with Frank Gehry, including a £300m college campus in Glasgow, and had extensive experience in Asia, the Middle East, the US and Europe.
