Leeds co-living scheme is approved at appeal

Yeme Architects gets go-ahead for 78-unit plans at listed former library

Yeme Archirects-designed proposals for a 78-home co-living scheme at a grade II-listed former library in Leeds have been approved at appeal.

The practice’s plans for developer Parklane Group will add a six-storey extension to the single-storey former Burley Branch Library, which was designed by Gilbert Burdett Howcroft and officially opened in 1926.

Leeds City Council previously consented a similar version of the scheme that boasted 60 individual flats and would have seen the listed library building converted for use as a co-working hub.
