Napier New Plymouth House hi-res Oct 2019

East London scheme is first phase of 5,000-home scheme

The first homes in a £1bn housing regeneration scheme in east London designed by JTP have won planning in principle.

Joint venture partners Havering council and Wates Residential submitted plans for the Napier and New Plymouth House site in Rainham in May this year, with the council taking till now to make its decision.

The proposals include 126 affordable homes and a further 71 for private sale. Because of its size, the final decision rests with London mayor Sadiq Khan.
