£20m project will revive one of Scotland’s oldest theatres

Bennetts Associates has been appointed to repair and expand one of Scotland’s oldest theatres.

The £20m redevelopment of Edinburgh’s grade A-listed King’s Theatre will bring its aging facilities into the 21st century and add a street-level café-bar. A new learning studio will also be created.

The 112-year-old venue’s stage will be flattened to attract world-class opera and dance companies and the orchestra pit rebuilt to support improved acoustics.
