Six-storey building is in St James’s conservation area
John McAslan & Partners has won planning for a six-storey office building in one of London’s smartest conservation areas.
The Duke’s Court building has gone through a number of design iterations as a result of a consultation process. Aidan Potter, a director at the practice, described the resulting design as highly crafted.
The 4,300sq m building at 77-79 Jermyn Street in St James’s is for the Crown Estate.
Clad in Portland stone and brick, it will have retail on the ground floor.
The scheme’s massing and materiality responds sensitively to the historic character of St James’s, added Potter.
