Commission reflected need for ‘extra care’ in Hayes

KKM has completed a care home in the west London borough of Hillingdon.

The north London practice was commissioned by Hillingdon Council last year to develop an “extra care” facility providing individual homes for people aged over 55, some of them with learning difficulties. The idea was to offer the residents independence in a setting where 24-hour care is close by.

Triscott House in Hayes, which meets code level 5 for sustainable homes, features a sedum roof, solar panels and A-rated materials.

It contains 41 one-bedroom flats and 6 two-bedroom flats plus communal areas.
