Assael Architecture has secured planning consent from Wandsworth Council for a residential scheme in south-west London for developer Hausman Hughes.

The £3.6 million scheme will be built on a run-down tennis court and consist of two buildings of up to four storeys, providing 20 new apartments. Half the units will be given over to affordable housing, to be run by the Metropolitan Housing Trust.

The building will be next door to the 1950s grade II listed Alton West housing estate, and Assael said its scheme “pays homage to this iconic housing project”.
