A scheme to revamp a Kent seaside town has seen its third architect hired for the job in as many years.
Farrells will now hope for better luck on the project in Folkestone than Foster & Partners and Aukett Fitzroy Robinson, the firm Foster’s replaced back in 2007.
Farrells has now been commissioned by the Folkestone Harbour Company, owned by local philanthropist and Saga Holidays founder Roger de Haan, to draw up plans for the redevelopment.
It will focus on new homes and public realm, with up to 1,000 units set to be built along with shops, restaurants and bars.
A planning application for the scheme is expected to be submitted to Shepway District Council early next year.
