Modernist architects looking to flog their wares need look no further: the country’s first estate agency specialising in 20th and 21st century homes has been launched.

The Modern House will sell homes built from 1920 to the present to a target audience of wealthy young professionals.

The first property on the agency’s books is Six Pillars, a large 1932 London house designed by Berthold Lubetkin’s practice, Tecton. It’s going for a song at £1.5 million.

The Modern House is run by Albert Hill and Matt Gibberd, who have backgrounds in architecture, design and property journalism. Hill said: “This is quite popular in America. I recently went to Florida where there was an agency specialising in beautiful 1950s houses. But there is a gap in the market here.”

Hill said he was interested in work by a number of living architects, including David Adjaye and Future Systems.
