Firm eyeing new markets to combat slowing public sector work

Devereux Architects has said it wants to target more jobs beyond its core public sector workloads in the next few years.

The firm, which is part of Irish engineer and project manager PM Group, said there was a “slower uptake” in public sector work, adding: “As a result, the company is continuing to widen its sectoral focus and client base which allow the company to target new clients and capitalise on growth opportunities over the coming years.”

Turnover in the year to December 2015 increased by more than £500,000 to £3.5 million while pre-tax profits jumped 80% to £205,000. Staff numbers remained flat at 37 while the firm said four directors waived their rights to remuneration.

Earlier this year, the firm was given planning for a new Centre for Cancer Immunology at Southampton university (pictured).
