I was brought up surrounded by the architects who were imagining and building the Brave New World. For over a decade my father, inspired by Auguste Perret, pursued (un-cut!) White Tile Modernism. Somewhat inevitably one of my earliest architectural pilgrimages was to Perret’s 25 Bis Rue Franklin apartment block – a project I still reference.
