The HOK London principal, RIBA council member and chair of Architects for Change introduces the latest in our 50 Wonders series

Wonder: Robie House, Chicago

Architect: Frank Lloyd Wright

Nominator: Femi Oresanya

Frank Lloyd Wright (FLW) is one of my favourite architects and while many may cite Fallingwater as their favourite, I’d go for the Robie Housein Chicago, completed in 1910. I remember visiting the building in 2007 and was struck by its beauty. Located on a small corner plot, the house occupies most of it leaving what’s left for a small garden. It is a quietly confident building that does not need to shout its presence.
