New to the Architect of the Year Awards for 2025, the title of UK Design Capital of the Year recognises outstanding leadership in architecture, placemaking and regeneration. It looks beyond individual buildings to celebrate cities showing strategic ambition in shaping their built environment, from long-term masterplans to bold urban experiments.
