Hello again!
I can’t tell you what a relief it to be in 'la campagna' even if it does take 6 hours to get here and I’m having to offer jobs to my friends to make sure people come and see me ! Truthfully though, it’s been a shock having to shoulder this huge responsibility of re-designing Devon so soon after my massive role steering a listed property company through its merger with only cows to talk to. My aim, to turn this little rural idyll into Barbican dal Dartington complete with our own little cinema designed by Big G, is the biggest challenge of my life.
And of course people are sweet, but very, very backward. I tried talking a nice looking man in patchwork trousers about Gropius but he just have me a funny look. But lying awake, wearing my yellow cashmere sweater because it’s bloody cold here, I feel humbled that the whole of architecture is awaiting my next move and I will not let you down. Ever.
