It seems fair that she wins the Gold Medal. It would have been churlish to deny her this recognition, regardless of whether you like the work or not. Clearly though, like so many architects, she spouts nonsense when articulating what she thinks her work is about. Architecture is generally best left to speak for itself. I think we have to recognise that there is a place and demand for this kind of thing and Hadid does blobbytechture better than most.
