Aah, Asplund and Lewerentz and the woodland cemetery, brings back memories of lectures at Queensland Uni so many years ago now.

The explanations of their design always seemed so sublime, as did many of the lectures on the Nordic greats, and yet my lecturers (e.g. the now Prof. Brit Andresen) were designing projects on the same basis and encouraging us to do the same, and achieving almost equally good results in the local vernacular.

If only I were even half as good as the masters I studied under, I wouldn't be spending my time coordinating structural steelwork, or like today coming up with an external door hardware schedule for a cinema project.

Still, one can still dream, even if it occassionally leads to weeping at what one wishes what could have been...
