I am astounded that you think the interior spaces of The Hepworth are in any way a disappointment.
It's my sense that most of the art world would disagree with you, as would the very large audience they attract. What new build gallery in the UK has a more impressive suite of spaces? They flow beautifully into one another and make great use of natural light to benefit the experience of the works of art inside. The full length windows are superbly placed. It's an inspirational space that slows people down - not yet another tedious set of regular boxes with no character sealed from outside lighting conditions and any sense of place. The positive effect on the city has been marked & we needed it! Hepworth to win.
