Living in Dalston, I was looking forward to being on the tube for the first time. However, I'm struggling to find somewhere reasonably central that it can take me quicker than the existing public transport. The problem is not only in sidelining architecture to create the large 'cheap' above ground structures, but in the avoidance of anything being built under the ground - where is the connection to the central line, or Liverpool Street, which the line closely passes and ignores. The construction project - and it's value - is all about connection. It just doesn't connect very well.
